We are working with residents of Appian Court to redevelop the scheme and have received much positive support from residents.
An important part of this has been a tour of our improved sheltered homes, led by SHIP Project Manager, Alex Lapping. This enabled Appian Court residents to see first hand our vision for our older people's housing.
The response from this event was overwhelmingly positive. Over 50% of Appian Court residents attended the tour and all agreed it was helpful in developing their understanding of the changes we were proposing to make at Appian Court.
We held another event for St George's Day, where SHIP team members joined Appian Court residents for a roast dinner and an opportunity to disucss further the plans for the scheme.
Our team visited all Appian Court residents in their homes to understand their preferred hosuing choice, aiming to move all residents to the home best suited to them while Appian Court is developed. From this our team developed bespoke housing plans for each resident. All of our housing plans have now been completed, and residents will start to receive offers of accommodation in the coming weeks.
As Appian Court has been the base of Age UK East London, we are working to ensure this service can be temporarily relocated while the scheme is redeveloped. Age UK are working very closely with us to support residents during the moves to their new homes.
