Kate Dodsworth, Chief Executive

Kate DodsworthKate Dodsworth joined Gateway as Chief Executive in April 2018. Kate started her career in homelessness and mental health 25 years ago. After completing a Master's degree in Housing, she moved to the National Housing Federation, latterly becoming Assistant Director. She led on policy and lobbying for affordable housing and for London and the South East. She moved to AmicusHorizon in 2013 as Executive Director of People and Strategy. She continued this role for Optivo following a merger in May 2017. Kate is also the Chair of the CIH London Board and an external examiner for Westminster University.

Mak Akinyemi, Director of Property Services

Mak Akinyemi, Director of Property Services


Mak has 19 years of experience in property services and asset management having started his career at Reddin and Nuttall Chartered Building Surveyors in 1994. Mak is a member of The Chartered Institute of Building and also sits on their professional interview panel.

Mak’s experience covers general practice surveying, charity and registered social landlord sectors, dealing with property services and property development. Mak was appointed as Director of Property Services at Gateway in May 2013.

Lynne Shea, Director of Finance and Resources

Lynn Shea Lynne Shea joined Gateway's Executive Management Team in January 2017 as Director of Finance and Resources. Lynne is a qualified accountant with over 30 years experience. She has held executive positions in the private and housing association sectors for over 26 years. 

Simon Walton, Interim Director of Resident Services

Simon has over 23 years' experience in social housing. He started his housing career at the City Council in Stoke-on-Trent and spent the last 20 years in Hertfordshire working for two successful organisations. Simon is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Housing and a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors.

Simon’s experience covers housing management, in-sourcing repair services and change management. He has a keen interest in place-shaping, driving innovation and fostering local partnerships. His main focus at Gateway will be improving and tailoring the services offered to residents.



Becky Utuka, Acting Director of Development

Photo of Becky Utuka Becky Utuka joined Gateway in January 2017 as the Head of Development and was promoted to Acting Director of Development in August 2018. Becky started her career as a Graduate Project Officer 12 years ago. She has extensive experience in development and project management, having worked within the Development teams of a number of Housing Associations including Swan Housing Association, Network Homes and Peabody. Becky has an MSC in Real Estate Development and Investment and a PGDip in Surveying.
