How we set your rent
How do we work out your rent?
We take into account various factors when working out your rent, this includes:
- the average wage in London;
- how much your home is worth and
- the number of bedrooms in your home.
We work out how much your weekly rent will increase each year by using the following calculation:
The uplift for each year should be the Consumer Price Index (CPI) at September of the previous year plus 1.0 percent, so CPI + 1%
Why is my neighbour's rent different?
Your neighbour’s rent might be different because your house is worth more, for example you may have more bedrooms or a garden.
Sometimes rent restructuring does not apply or it might be delayed until a later date. For example, your rent might be protected by a previous agreement. If this is the case, we will let you know.
