Testing and Maintenance Electrician

Gateway is a well-established community-based housing association with just under 3000 properties primarily in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.  Our early formation goes back to 1926 when we began life as Bethnal Green Housing Association.

Our mission is to provide great housing and support for people in East London. We primarily provide social housing including rented homes and shared ownership. We have the largest stock holding of housing for older people in Tower Hamlets which includes 14 sheltered housing schemes and 1 extra care scheme. We want to build a reputation for being amongst the best while remaining commercially astute.

We develop new homes too and we run our own in house repairs service.

We're looking for an experienced Testing and Maintenance Electrician to work on a social housing contract in East London. The successful candidate will be performing the following tasks using electronic workflow systems and a PDA:

  • Electrical Installation Condition Reports on a daily basis in occupied properties
  • Remedial works up to and including rewiring
  • Planned maintenance and voids
  • Kitchen and bathroom electrical installations
  •  Reactive works 

You will need to have the following as a minimum:

  • Level 3 Electro technical qualification or equivalent (e.g. C&G 2365. 2360)
  • Level 3 C&G 2391 or C&G 2394/5 Inspection and Testing
  • C&G 2382 17/18th Edition
  • Social housing experience
  • Confident working alone or as part of a team
  • Domestic experience up to and including full rewires
  • Confident in electrical testing with at least 2 years experience
