The National Tenants Voice (NTV) is recruiting members members for the National Tenant Council - a body that will ensure government and others take tenants' views on housing policy into account.
The Council will have 50 members and will meet four times a year in different parts of England. The current recruitment campaign will appoint 26, with the remaining 24 being nominated by tenant organisations.
The aim is for the National Tenant Council to reflect the diversity of social housing tenants. It will include tenants from local authorities, housing associations, housing co-ops, tenants managed by ALMOs and TMOs, and leaseholders of social landlords. To be really effective it will need to have on it tenants of different ages, tenants from all parts of England, and tenants from a range of different ethnic backgrounds.
Council members will be unpaid, but will receive out of pocket expenses, together with an opportunity to have their say on Government policies and initiatives together with the prospect of training and personal development.
Full details and an online application form can be found on this link to the recruitment website. There is also a helpline to call for more information - 0800 917 7396.
