Residents' Fair results - what a great day

Published: 16 November 2009

Resident votingThanks to all our residents who came to our Residents' Fair on 3 October. It was a really successful day with nearly 100 attendees.

The highlight of the day was the interactive Who Wants to be a Millionaire style voting. Residents told us what they thought were the most important things for Gateway to be focussing on next year.

Priorities for 2010/11

55% said our top priority should be maintenance.
22% said we should focus on making our neighbourhoods safer.
12% said we should build more new homes.
6% said we should make our rent statements clearer.
4% said we should develop resident involvement.

From other questions we asked, attendees felt the most important things were:

  • Repairs - we should get repairs right first time.
  • Customer services - the call should be dealt with by the person who answers the phone.
  • Safer neighbourhoods - we should deal with antisocial behaviour promptly, sensitively and firmly.
  • Estate services - housing officers should be on the estates more.
  • Young People - young people should be given the opportunity to run and budget their own events.
  • Involving you - most people want to get involved by attending social events.
