News from Sheron

After six and a half years as Chief Executive, I will be leaving Gateway towards the end of the year. I am taking up the position of Chief Executive with another Housing Association. The Board are already working on finding a replacement and we hope to make an announcement over the coming months. I am excited by this new opportunity but will greatly miss the staff and residents of Gateway. I am pleased to have played a role in some notable successes, particularly:

  • The STEP programme which assists over 100 people each year to get back into training or employment
  • Setting up the Homeworks in-house repairs team
  • Seeing an improvement in most service areas
  • Building around 230 new homes, with a pipeline of 448 homes
  • Redeveloping/remodelling 5 sheltered schemes
  • Developing Gateway’s first homes for market sale
  • Developing the first leasehold retirement housing in Tower Hamlets using the Older People’s Shared Ownership Model

There is still much to do. The Board and senior leadership team remain committed to making Gateway a great place to work, delivering excellent service to Gateway’s customers. I will continue to do my part until my very last day.
