The Board is the group of people who oversee and direct what happens at Gateway. The chairperson has a key role on the Board and organises and leads the Board members.
The current Chair of the Board will be standing down during 2010 and the Board has decided to advertise for a new Chair from outside of Gateway.
The Board is considering offering payment to the new Chair as an incentive to find a high calibre candidate who will drive Gateway to improve services to our residents. (The successful candidate may choose not to take up the offer of payment). Many housing associations in England and Wales pay their Chairs, as it reflects the high level of responsibility the role demands.
The amount offered will meet the National Housing Federation guidelines (around £8000 a year), and we must apply to the Tenant Services Authority for approval.
If you have any views on paying the new Chair of the Board, please send them in writing by 28 February to the Chief Executive at Gateway Housing Association, 409-413 Mile End Road, London E3 4PB.
