Resident Scrutiny Panel
The Resident Scrutiny Panel plays an important role in ensuring that residents' views are heard regularly on the aspects of our services that matter to them.
The Resident Scrutiny Panel is our main resident group. As part of the resident governance structure the Panel reports directly into our Board and has a Board member attend their meetings as an observer. The Panel was established in May 2011 to scrutinise Gateway’s services and make recommendations for improvements.
Each year the Panel selects an area of Gateway's services to review, their scrutiny project is then presented to the Board and many of the recommendations are implemented to improve our services. You can read more on their last two scrutiny reviews in the latest annual report.
The Scrutiny Panel’s main remit is to:
- Take an independent view of Gateway performance
- Establish priorities for reviewing performance
- Oversee resident led scrutiny activities
- Collect evidence to enable services to be scrutinised
The Scrutiny Panel has the same level of influence as our formal committees and has a direct link to the Board, including having a Board member attend meetings as an observer. The Panel meets every two months. Currently there are seven members on the Panel.
