Support to Employment Programme (STEP)

Support To Employment Programme (STEP) is a programme designed to help Gateway residents and people living in local communities into work and training.

STEP offers free employability training to Gateway residents and local people.

We will work with them to help develop the necessary skills needed for learning and work.

We want to see a fresh and innovative approach to the way that employability support is delivered to our residents and locals and how we provide them with jobs, apprenticeships and training opportunities.

The aim of the STEP programme is to meet the needs of people who wish to seek, gain and retain employment or progress to further learning. Participants will have an opportunity to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment by following a programme, which includes:

  • professional CV writing workshops;
  • help with completing job application forms;
  • effective interview skills and techniques;
  • job interview preparation;
  • work and volunteering placements and
  • apprenticeship and employment opportunities.
