Leasehold and Shared Ownership Event – Highlights
Last month saw us hold our first Leasehold and Shared Ownership virtual event. Thank you to everyone who attended and took the time to share valuable feedback, which we will use to improve future events.
How did it go?
There was an array of workshops that leaseholders and shared owners took part in by contributing ideas and suggestions. Here are a few highlights:
Meet the CEO
Leaseholders and shared owners met Gateway Housings new Chief Executive, Kate Franklin, who joined the organisation in August 2021. Kate said, “I’m thrilled to have joined Gateway at such a significant time for the sector and residents”. You can read more about our new Chief Executive here.
Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Workshop
The ASB workshop covered topics such as ‘What is ASB?’ and ‘How does Gateway deal with anti-social behaviour’. Head over to our Anti-Social Behavior section, where you can find out more, plus helpful tips on being a good neighbour and ASB FAQs.
External Wall Systems (EWS) Workshop
The workshop covered Gateway’s EWS programme, leaseholders and shared owners had the opportunity to discuss and learn about EWS Surveys plus an update on progress and next steps. You can view the latest update and news about our EWS programme, EWS FAQ’s and more here.
Cyclical Works Programme Workshop
Those who attended this workshop learned about the Section 20 consultation process and discovered what to expect and how it affects leaseholders. You can find out more about our cyclical programmes here.
Lease extensions and Staircasing Workshop
The workshop covered topics such as ‘why extend my lease?’ and ‘How to extend my lease?’ It also gave a brilliant insight into everything you need about staircasing, including how it works, what it cost, and the benefits.

MyGateway Portal – Feedback Session
It was great to hear your views about the self-service portal ‘MyGateway’. Your feedback will help us provide a platform that will enhance how you communicate with Gateway, request services, and improve your experience with us.
How did we do?
65% of attendees rated the event ‘Good to Excellent’
84% of attendees said they would attend a similar event again
70% satisfaction of workshops at the event
What’s next?
You asked for an in-depth EWS1 workshop, that will take a closer look at the EWS1 process. We have arranged for a workshop to take place week commencing 25th October 2021. We’ll be writing to residents to confirm dates and times.
