How you can support Hate Crime Awareness Week
On Wednesday 14 October, the Tower Hamlets LGBTQ+ Community Forum and elop are holding their annual Peace Walk.
The event will bring people and organisations together to stand against hate and show support for people and communities affected by hate crime.
This year's event will show solidarity with refugees and people seeking asylum who experience race hate crime.
- Wednesday 14 October 2026, 2pm to 5pm
- Meet at Shaheed Minar Memorial in Altab Ali Park
The walk will set off at 2.15pm and travel along Brick Lane to Brady Arts & Community Centre.
After the walk there will be talks, a theatre performance, a question-and-answer session, creative workshops and refreshments.
It's free to take part. Book your free place for the Peace Walk, here.
The walk will take around 30 minutes and may not be fully wheelchair accessible. Brady Arts & Community Centre is wheelchair accessible, and you can meet the group there at 2.45pm instead.
We're here to help
We know it can be difficult to tell someone about hate behaviour. You don't have to deal with it alone.
If you experience hate behaviour in your home or community, please tell us.
By speaking up, you can help us understand what is happening and work with you to help keep our communities safe and welcoming for everyone.
