Moving to another home - Transfers

Sometimes things change and you might need or want to move to another home. 
If you live in a Gateway home, you might be able to apply to move to another Gateway home or a home managed by another social landlord. This is called a transfer.
How do transfers work?

If you’re thinking about moving or you'd like to be considered for another home, the first step is to join your local Housing Register.

How are homes offered?

When a home becomes available, there is a process for deciding who should be offered it. This is called allocation. 

Homes are allocated through the Housing Register for the borough where you live. Each borough has its own allocation scheme, which explains how applications are considered and homes are offered.
