Gateway celebrates South Asian Heritage Month!
What is South Asian Heritage Month?
South Asian Heritage Month (SAHM) runs from the 18th of July to the 17th of August every year to signify the date that the Indian Independence Act 1947 gained royal assent from King George VI, and the date that the Radcliffe Line was published in 1947.
SAHM seeks to understand the diverse heritage and cultures that continue to link the UK with South Asia.
What is this year’s theme?
This year’s theme is “Stories to Tell”. Our stories are what make us unique, and they connect us to each other in profound ways. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be shining a spotlight on some of the people who make Gateway – staff and residents alike!
