As temperatures continue to rise, it is more important to stay hydrated and cool this summer to avoid health risks and heat exhaustion.

Here are some top tips to keep you healthy and well during the hot weather:

  • Keep hydrated - drink plenty of water, and fluids and avoid excess alcohol during the hot period.
  • Stay cool indoors – if you are working from home (hybrid working). it is important to keep your home cool.
  • Keep in the shade - close curtains in rooms that face the sun to keep indoor spaces cooler. Remember it may be cooler outdoors than indoors.
  • Going outside - if going outdoors, use cool spaces considerately, and keep your distance in line with social distancing guidelines. Please follow coronavirus social distancing guidance and wash your hands regularly.
  • Children and infants - never leave anyone in a closed, parked vehicle, especially infants, young children or animals
