Wellbeing and welfare
We offer programmes that support residents' welfare and signpost to local services that promote health and wellbeing.
Financial wellbeing
- We provide welfare and benefits advice to our residents on our website and via our Welfare and Benefits Team. Our dedicated staff secured an additional £175,000 in benefits payments for our residents last year. Please contact the Income Team via email at incomerecovery@gatewayhousing.org.uk if you have any questions about welfare and benefits.
- Our dedicated staff can provide additional benefits and welfare advice and there are useful resources on our website:
- As part of our commitment to our resident's financial welfare, we run programmes like STEP which offer free training and advice. STEP provides routes into apprenticeships and meaningful careers in housing for our residents.
- We're also an accredited Living Wage employer.
Together these initiatives make a real difference to help us support our residents' financial well-being and raise people out of poverty in East London.
Health and Wellbeing
We believe the most powerful way we can support our residents' health and well-being is to work to build safe and resilient communities. In order to achieve this we've been involved with a whole range of positive initiatives:
Safe homes are free from fear and violence. As part of our pledge to support Make a Stand against Domestic Violence you can find signposting to support for a whole range of domestic and gender-based violence here: Domestic Violence
To support healthy communities to thrive we promote intercultural understanding and tolerance. That's why we've signed up to support the Tower Hamlets No Place for Hate campaign. We've got two No Place for Hate Champions helping to bring communities together and foster understanding in our diverse communities. Read more
