Strengthening communities with ‘Tea and Talk’

Gateway staff talking to customers

These sessions offer a localised, informal space for customers to meet Gateway staff and share their concerns.

Our first session was held at Holmsdale and Huddlestone Community Centre, bringing together customers from across our communities in a relaxed setting.

We were excited to see customers travel from as far as Hackney to join us, and the feedback we received has encouraged us to continue and expand these sessions.

Our Homeworks and Property Services teams were also available to assist with repair requests and offer advice on property-related concerns.

Pamela Boyd, Customer Involvement Coordinator, said, "While our General Needs Customer Forum remains valuable for addressing shared challenges, we recognise the need for more flexible, community-based engagement."

She added: "Based on this success, we're planning to host more 'Tea and Talk' sessions in our communities in Hackney and Isle of Dogs.

"We'll continue to take on board your feedback and tailor these gatherings to meet the diverse needs of our customers."
